This beautiful antique French buffet is the inspiration for the color palette today. A neutral that is not quite khaki, not quite grey and yet is a combination of them all. Using Annie Sloan Chalk PaintⒸ, start with French Linen and add highlights and shadows with Paris Grey, Country Grey, and Old White. Accent with a touch of gilding wax.

DeleteI almost always use several colors of Chalk Paint because I like the look of old finishes. You could start with either Paris Grey or French Linen for your first solid coat. After the first coat I intentionally paint to leave gaps to see the underlying colors. On this piece the French Linen and Paris Grey are almost equal which is why you could start with either. Country Grey and Old White are for highlights and you can use a dry brush method on the edges and high points. Just keep going until you are happy with the finish, I rarely sand back to distress.
