A door in a fishing village echos the colors of the sea.
I like Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for my craft and furniture projects, but for walls nothing compares to Pure & Original Fresco Lime Paint. I love the natural variations of shades and tones the lime creates within one paint color. You have to see how gorgeous it is! Checkout my most recent interior design make overs with Fresco. It can be purchased online at www.502paint.com
P.S Pure and Original also makes a chalk based paint called Classico in 140 colors! Its amazing too!
I absolutely love this look! Please give me some tips on how to achieve it. Pretty Please!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Marcia,
ReplyDeleteI love this look too.I like to use the predominant color as the first coat. Here, Louis Blue. You could make a wash to add the other colors but I usually dab them on in small amounts. This has a cracked surface so if you want to replicate that use a crackle medium. Annie has one, but I haven't tried it yet. Many times I will put several of the accent colors on a paper plate and using the same brush rotate through them.. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions and I would love to see your project when finished. Email me a pic or let me know if you post it (FB, Pinterest, Instagram, etc).

Thank you for your response. I think this one is over my head. One of these days I'll do some experimenting.
ReplyDeleteMarcia, I didn't mean to make this sound so complicated. I started doing this blog to encourage people , not make it sound too difficult to try. I like to include every element so you are not disappointed, but it can always be simplified by eliminating some of the colors. Here is the quick and easy way. Use Louis Blue for a first coat. Dilute Greek Blue about 1 part water to 1part paint. You can paint it only on the areas you want it to show or a light wash coat as the second layer. If you think its too much, wipe some off with a rag, not enough add some more. That will be fairly close. If you feel it looks too flat, add some white to LB or GB and brush on lightly. I hope this works better for you. Thanks for getting back to me, feedback like this really helps me do a better job of explaining the process. Let me know if you have any more questions,

Thank you for your great blog. I'm about to start up and don't wish my guest room to feel like an ice cube, I would like it be warm but using light tones.... At the moment I am thinking of either using your Harbour colour choices or your Portal in Arles choices.....
ReplyDeleteHi there! How do you achieve the cracked paint look?
